LME Survey

URGENT SURVEY REQUEST

LMEs across the state have been provided with information on their reduction in funding as of September 8, 2009.  They have been asked to provide the Division with their service's plan by October 5, 2009 for the Division's review.

We need to hear from the members of NCARF to find out if your LMEs have already taken action on services or funding reduction and what this has meant to your organization.

If you have already had reductions in either funding or services for the 2009/2010 year from your LME, please complete this quick survey, if you have not already done so.

We will re-survey in the next 6 weeks to further assess the impact of budget cuts throughout the state.

NC Provider Council 2009 Annual Conference

Message from Diana Mills, Conference Coordinator:
As the 2009 Conference Coordinator, I am writing to extend an invitation to you, your staff, and/or your community of providers to attend the NC Providers Council's 2009 Annual Conference to be held October 6-7 at the Sheraton Greensboro Hotel at Four Seasons.

For over ten years, the NC Providers Council has been advocating on behalf of providers and the people we support.  Each year, our fall conference has grown and provided an opportunity for learning and sharing ideas about our industry. We have scheduled the conference in order to provide the most current and accurate information on the legislative issues and changes within our industry. This year, with the unprecedented legislative changes, along with the budgeting crisis, we have strived to provide a relevant, up to the moment content that will provide attendees with a more comprehensive vision for the changes that are about to take place and innovative ideas and solutions to help move forward through change and uncertainty.

The theme of the conference "Accepting the Leadership Challenge...Creating Innovative Solutions for the Future" could not be more accurate in describing the goals and objectives for this year's conference content. The attached conference packet contains our full agenda, but I wanted to highlight a few sessions that may be of particular interest to you:

Lanier M. Cansler, Secretary
Making Progress in Difficult Budget Times

Diane McComb, Liaison to State Associations, ANCOR
The Effects of the Recession on Medicaid, Disability Funding and the Future of Services for People with Disabilities

Leza Wainwright; Tara Larson
New Legislative and MH/DD/SA System Changes Impacting Providers

Tara Larson; Kelly Crosbie; Leza Wainwright; Jim Jarrard; Christina Carter
Reduction of Residential Level III & IV; Consolidation/Integration of Case Management Services; Restructuring Community Support Services; Provider Monitoring
