October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month | |
In May, the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy unveiled the official theme for October's National Disability Employment Awareness Month- "Talent Has No Boundaries: Workforce Diversity INCLUDES Workers With Disabilities."
Please share with NCARF what you are doing to celebrate or otherwise promote National Disability Employment Awareness Month. We will compile the responses received over the next few weeks and provide a summary at the NCARF Annual Training Conference at the end of September. Tell us about things you've done in the past that have worked and new ideas that you may be trying for the first time this year.

Haywood Vocational Opportunities in Waynesville announces the Grand Opening of HVO's new Westwood Facility, formerly Wellco Enterprises, Inc., on Friday, October 22, 2010. CAP-MR/DD Online Stakeholder Survey |
"During the month of September, you are invited to participate in a survey about the CAP-MR/DD Medicaid waivers (Comprehensive Waiver and Supports Waiver). Your feedback is very important to us. We want to hear from individuals receiving CAP-MR/DD services, parents and guardians of individuals receiving services, service providers, advocates and others having direct experience with the current CAP-MR/DD waivers. The survey uses Survey Monkey and all responses are anonymous. The intention of this survey is to obtain ideas, feedback and preferences about CAP waivers as we develop the waivers to be implemented in November 2011. Your responses will be considered during the development of the Tiered Waiver system."
The deadline to complete the survey is September 30, 2010.
