Employment Source Signs Contract to Employ Nearly 200 People With Disabilities
Fayetteville, NC-Employment Source signed a contract this month to provide dining facility attendant services at 12 dining facilities at Fort Bragg, NC. The food service contract, which will employ 194 people with disabilities through the AbilityOne Program, will start on October 1st.
The 6.5 million dollar contract is the largest in the history of Employment Source and is expected to have a significant impact on the employment of people with disabilities in Cumberland County. Employment Source also provides mess attendant services at Pope Air Force Base and Cherry Point, North Carolina. The two contracts currently employ more than 100 individuals with disabilities under the AbilityOne Program. This will be Employment Source's first food service contract at Fort Bragg.
"This contract will have a significant positive impact on our community through providing valued employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities," said Jim Aynes, Employment Source Executive Director. "We are thrilled to be providing food services at Fort Bragg and look forward to continuing to provide exceptional services to a valued customer."
Employment Source has provided a variety of support services to the military personnel stationed at Fort Bragg since the start of a mail center management contract in 1995. Employment Source employees also provide postal, vehicle registration and grounds maintenance services and operate the Soldier Welcome Center at Fort Bragg. As a leading provider of employment and rehabilitation services in Cumberland County, Employment Source currently employs 233 individuals with disabilities.
Employment Source is an affiliate of the ServiceSource Network, a 501(c)(3) organization that provides job training and support services to more than 10,000 people with disabilities in nine states from Colorado to Delaware and Florida to the District of Columbia. Collectively, ServiceSource Network employees serve 7.9 million meals annually to military and civilian personnel at 39 dining facilities or mess halls across the United States.
