ECVC Receives Panasonic Battery Award
|

Press Release - 5-19-09, Panasonic Battery Award: Panasonic Energy Corporation of America Industrial Battery Business Unit will present ECVC an award today at 3PM recognizing ECVC's outstanding excellence and performance in achieving shipments of over 19 million batteries in 2008.
Matt Sora, Vice President of Sales and Marketing Group of Panasonic Energy Corporation of America located in Japan, will be presenting the award at ECVC's Greene Street location.
ECVC is a company with a social mission of serving people with disabilities that was established in 1965.

Adjustment Services Instructor (Goldsboro, NC)
$26,584- $40,305 The primary purpose of this position is to provide work adjustment training to persons with disabilities in order to prepare them for competitive employment. Duties include: directing and assisting the work of consumers who have a broad range of physical, mental and emotional challenges by teaching them how to use and maintain printing and peripheral equipment including a printing press, folder, cutter, jogger, collator or perforator efficiently and effectively through proper techniques/processes while maintaining safety awareness; being responsible for job set up, work flow and quality assurance; assessing client behavior/ability and implementing creative and achievable behavior change strategies to adjust work performance; providing client orientation and supervision; assessing readiness for employment via behavior observation and productivity measures; processing print orders for mass production; managing printing supplies; and facilitating beneficial relationships with consumers, staff, employers and community partners. Critical/Preferred Criteria:Ability to work with individuals to instruct, supervise, assess and shape behaviors including the verbal skills needed to measure and document behaviors and follow within plans. Knowledge of various disability conditions. Knowledge of behavior change strategies/techniques. Experience in working with individuals with a variety of disabling conditions. Excellent communication skills to foster effective interaction with individuals of all socio-economic and intellectual/educational levels. Ability or willingness to learn to operate, adjust, and provide maintenance for an offset printing press and related printing equipment and supplies. Ability to perform routine clerical work and physical stamina to frequently lift heavy boxes and stand for long periods of time. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Minimum Requirements: A. Trades Recruitment Pattern: Associate's degree from a two-year technical or community college in industrial technology or related field to the technical area assigned and one year of experience in production, trades, or related work that provides the above knowledge and skills; or graduation from high school or equivalent and three years of work experience in production, trades, or related work that provides the above knowledge and skills; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. B. Human Service Recruitment Pattern: Associate degree in a Human Services field and one year of experience working with the population served; or graduation from high school or equivalent and three years of experience instructing developmental or physically disabled clients; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Management has the option of choosing either A or B in order to meet the needs of the clients and the program and achieve a desired balance.
